i remember seeing this video before the vimeo awards process picked it as one of the winners for the vimeo festival awards and i was blown away by the detail and capture of a really emotional moment of a man and his dog and a deep reflection of what the partnership between them both.

so moving.  so fantastically shot.

the 'godlike' lodwick does it again.  this is sorta like an 'animoto' vs realtime stream of social background ambience from a variety of sources. i used my last 2000 pictures on flickr as a source.  i love it.  certainly makes you realise where you have been and what you have been up too.

i still think that realtime stream of content has not even scratched the surface yet.  but it's coming.. .

introducing 'sixbysix' - a compliment to audiogravity six urls episodes that will restart really soon now is a little collection probably once a week of six videos that really jumped off the page on vimeo at me that week.  so much quality content goes up on the web that we miss so much of it.

'travel to japan with me me (iphone4 hd)'

for those that are still thinking if the iphone with that 720p mode and camera can live up to the hype i keep coming across videos that show that it is easily as good as a flip or kodak camera you can buy.  one not have one multifunctional device.

'floating head'

i'm still laughing here.  this guy needs to make a series about floating head.  this is just great, love the clarity and the blood drops from the severed head.  the final scenes is quality and i think he has a lot of scope with this.  funny as.

'ibm smarter planet - energy'

something really appealing to me and the 'deathstar' project is data viz.  i'm looking forward to getting our deathstar project (it has a proper name but do not want to release it yet) built (once we find investment/cashflow of course) as a major part will be some fantastic data visuals.  oh joy. :)

'clitchdesk clusterfuck'

i'm not sure what worries me more - the fact that we have people that dabble with this stuff or the 'finding the cable that fell out' of this myriad of cables and connectors.  looks like a lot of fun to play with thou.

'steadicam + GoPro'

i miss videoblogging with a passion, since my canon hv20 has become an expensive webcam/studio camera only (it got damaged and no longer records because of a trip to dubai for twestival last year) i have no camera.  i look forward to the days of playing with a 5d/7d and a steadycam with some zoom h2/h4 hotshoe dopeness.

'cinecrop iphone app'

this is neat.  i use another application that does something similar to this but i do like the custom cropping controls.  especially for quickly doing a bunch of images before i posted them to posterous as i get that thin, 500px wide style effect that i would normally use a tool on my desktop to do.  having it mobile is really handy.

that's my first sixbysix. .. more soon! :)

hmph.  not sure why but the 5000/kps .mkv in colour looks really poorly encoded when uploaded to vimeo compared to the black and white one.  maybe i need to tinker around with output formats.  still, at least i know i can rotate stuff nicely without a fully fledged package.
