whoa.

@danielroseart has done it again with this latest piece of graphic work.  if you remember the crystal maze you will remember that that the layout was broken into four quarters and so is this venue.  we are changing the wording a little bit for the band area but otherwise it's rocking!

So quite a lot done today.

@danielroseart managed to put together the £20 each 'fill a gap until we have our proper kit' plinths so we have something to stand at (we need to get some black material to cover them of course in the next few days) and work ok as a central point to the presenter part of the room.

the sofa area is now set with mono audio technica pro 45 mono microphones in stereo into the maudio usb mobilepre so we get a nice conversational stereo video output. we need to dress that area with plants and some mood lighting and of course some pillows.  i'm thinking that a cold fridge would not go a miss here as well to be honest.

the microphones sound absolutely fantastic.  we are so pleased, not having to mess around handing back and forth a microphone is great - we just literally sit down and stream.  been thinking a lot today about using growl for starting the streaming running and changing to different camera views for wirecast but they really need to put something in wirecast4 to make that happen.  i need to submit that idea as well.  we are finding the telestream wirecast the best option for switching cameras.  it's great.

obviously we need to start looking around for another mixing desk now that can accept at least four xlr inputs because we have three ceiling microphones that we can use. ideally we could do with a fourth microphone so that we get the presenting part of the show in stereo output as well.

additional we will be saving our pennies to be able to purchase some green paint for the backwall so we can do better genlocking without using the current screen we have should make for a better experience on doing genlocked work.

all good!

the basement area we looked at no longer than a week or so ago has been attacked at full force and the majority of the stuff removed to make way for us and our studio. the staff at the @lacemarkethouse have been amazing and started to turn around the studio at full pace.  a few more things need to happen on their side and then we get access around thursday time to look at putting the curtains around the edging.

the sound is boomy like it was up here right now because nothing is in the space.  i'm thinking my beanbags, some chairs and the sofa will look great down there.  i'm getting super excited again as we can really do the studio justice with that little bit more space that we will have by having the basement. the sound is nicer and it is a lot cooler.

more thursday onwards! :)

I'd really appreciated a little 'like' loving on our fibre streaming studio facebook page we setup over the weekend. we are just a few people away from being able to assign the page a proper url instead of my faked out short url i made. i prefer the facebook pages url because they are easier to remind people with. we should have setup the page a long time ago.

progress with the studio is going well and we have the greenscreen in and working and we are very pleased with it with the softboxes we have working on it. the next step is to get the camera fixed up on the ceiling near the main light, build a free standing stand of sorts and getting our audio locked down - which means better curtains and looking at better sound proofing. i'm going to be recording some more'thegravity' shows once i can lock down the video recording quality issues. seem to be getting blocky streaming out so going to try some local recording and upload that way.

remember, drop by the url at the top of the post and give us a 'like' - it would really help us out! :)

more soon! :)

*update* - that was quick - we now have http://www.facebook.com/fibrecamp - thanks guys.  do not forget to follow the posterous blog as well over at http://fibreca.mp as we expand out our template and studio.  thanks!
