Just a few pictures that i have finally got around to posting from the conkertu local event in february. lots of tickets were sold on eventbrite for the day and about a quarter of those people that signed up turned up for the day. The west street music project did a fantastic job and the sound system was amazing. overall a good turnout for such a cold and rainy day
this one came to me while running around (i say running but really i was out of breath and exhausted) on the 'activity course' at conkers. i'm not sure if they have ever had time trials or anything like it at conkers but all i could think about would be how much fun it would be to live stream and document a group of people blasting around the trail as we stream it out on bambuser.
I'm thinking. . . - one person to carry mobility box (inet connectivity) - a person streaming from the nokia phone using bambuser - fun timing of the time trial based on the length of the video stream posted - leaderboard system - twitter voting to vote up their favorite entry - split screen time trials maybe later on - split screen view side by side - custom rezpondr theme for bambuser Thinking that we should maybe test this at the next conkertu on the 27th of this month. If your up for it please drop me a message. i'm hoping to get some of the crowd that will be around the ampitheatre to take part on the day.
took a blast out in the car up to conkers this morning after having a few beers with theranger the night before and talking about the fire pits that are currently being constructed. gerry o'brian btw is the ranger of conkers (posterous blog link to the site we set up for him) and is actively putting together a bunch of videos on his site from around the forest. we hope to get him and the other posterous users we have got setup fully social media mobilised in the coming weeks.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the muddy/overcast overview of the firepits in construction that i recorded on my nokia n85. for some reason .mp4 with imovie08 looks really really muddy. ;(
I spent the best part of my sunday morning refreshing my head by running around various parts of conkers (www.visitconkers.com) - i mainly went after a conversation over a few beers the night before with the ranger in the pub about the fire pits that are in progress. I still have got problems with uploading these using ovi and i get some kind of authentication error which is really starting to bug me.
*update* i found that if i used a password shorter than 12 characters on my ovi account then it would work on the phone. that is quite a serious bug if you ask me but your not so i'll just say it instead. ;)
Not really sure why i never took that many snaps on the phone or even the camera. i guess i was not in social media mode that day what with organising and running around after ella. I really need to get my phone booked in for a service as i think the logic board is on the way out again - everything is slow and clunky. You'll see a picture of some delightful 'mead' and we had the water donated to us as well which was really nice of them. I'm glad that everything went well on the day and i'm looking forward to the next event which we think will be february now to give us some breathing room to change up some areas.
